    How does the Sun work? What are sunspots? What is space weather, and how does it affect us here on Earth? How long will the Sun exist?
    Travel back in time to the beginning of the solar system and experience the birth of the Sun. Discover how the Sun supports life on Earth, how it can also threaten life, and how its energy will eventually fade away.

    There are still many aspects of the universe that we don't fully understand. 
    According to all observations, there is far more mass in the universe than what we can actually see. We call this mysterious mass “dark matter”. But what is it? How does it work? 
    From following protons racing through the world’s largest particle collider to up-close views of the Big Bang and emergent cosmos, join scientists on a journey in the search for dark matter.

    ALL Scout Shows are full for the current school year (through May of 2026). 

    This is a special show for scout troops provided by Friends of Arlington's David M. Brown Planetarium and Arlington Public Schools. Troops must sign up in advance to attend.

    Please note that some shows may be full months in advance.

    On the first Monday of the month* during the school year, APS hosts Stars Tonight. This is a 90 minute live sky talk in the planetarium that offers an in-depth look at the night sky and various celestial phenomena. This presentation is best suited for ages 10 and older.
