Join us at the planetarium for a very special remembrance of David M. Brown on the week of his 70th birthday!

The Friends of the Planetarium are honored to host a presentation by Ann Micklos, a friend and colleague of David Brown and a retired NASA engineer who worked on over 100 space shuttle missions.

The program is free and open to the public - first-come, first-served seating, with no tickets required!

The presentation will be live streamed (link will be posted soon), but the audience in the planetarium will also be able to participate in a Q&A with Ms. Micklos.

Duration: approximately 1 hour

Dynamic Earth explores the inner workings of Earth’s great life support system: the global climate. The show follows a trail of energy that flows from the Sun into the interlocking systems that shape our climate: the atmosphere, oceans, and the biosphere.
Ride along on swirling ocean and wind currents, dive into the heart of a monster hurricane, come face-to-face with sharks and gigantic whales, and fly into roiling volcanoes.

David M. Brown Planetarium premiere!

This new planetarium show is aimed at families and young children. Eve is small, but her problems feel huge. She is not sure she can stand up to the wolves, who always seem to pick on her. But Eve’s mother understands, and shares stories with her that reveal how even the smallest creatures can change the world. She also describes the planets of the solar system and how Earth is the only one where life exists. Little Eve listens and begins to wonder if she is stronger than she previously imagined.

Duration: 29 minutes

Imani, Aki, and John are three friends from an alien solar system. While on a space exploration mission, their ship crashes on Earth. The accident damages the life-support system that sustains the cherished forest they keep onboard - which provides their food. Our heroes have no knowledge of plant care or any way to contact their own people, so all hope now rests on Earth children in the planetarium audience, who can help the Stellars figure out what plants need to survive and how to rescue the forest.

Duration: 26 minutes

On the first Monday of the month* during the school year, APS hosts Stars Tonight. This is a 90 minute live sky talk in the planetarium that offers an in-depth look at the night sky and various celestial phenomena. This presentation is best suited for ages 10 and older.
