People have long used science fiction to imagine what other worlds might look like - but it was just speculation. Today, with powerful telescopes such as Hubble, Kepler, and JWST, we can detect distant planets and even learn about them. We now know of more than 6000 planets that exist beyond the solar system. What are these worlds like? Can we compare them to planets in our solar system? Are they like the imagined planets in popular science fiction? If there should be life on these worlds, how might it differ from us? We will go on a journey, both fanciful and very real, to explore the latest results in the search for alien worlds. Join us for this special presentation by Dr. Inge Heyer, professor of physics and astronomy at Loyola University in MD.
Duration: approximately 1 hour Recommended for general audiences - best for ages 8 and up
