Sunset Science

Event held on Nov. 18, 2022, 11 a.m. Eastern time

Sunset Science.

Sunsets and sunrises provide a beautiful display of color at the beginning and end of the day. Refraction, the bending of light as it travels from one medium to another, can produce a number of strange effects, including mirages. Join Friends' President Jennifer Bartlett, a professor at the US Naval Academy, for a discussion of what can happen when the Sun is between day and night.

This talk is free but Arlington 55+ membership is required. Because these events frequently have a waitlist, early registration is recommended.

The presentation will be at the Langston-Brown Community Center, 2121 N Culpeper St, Arlington, VA 22207.
