The Art of Science

“Beauty is truth, truth beauty,” – that is all Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.

The precise intended meaning of Keats’ enigmatic ending to his most famous poem is still a matter of some debate. But many of those who feel that there is an intimate, if mysterious, connection between the explanatory power of a scientific theory and its aesthetic qualities have adopted these lines as a eloquent expression of their beliefs.

On March 17 – 19 the Arlington Planetarium will be host to shows, talks, and performances devoted to the “The Art of Science,” exploring the intersections of scientific and artistic creativity. We’ll have films, live music, and lectures exploring both the art in science and art in the service of communicating the adventure of the scientific journey.
