The Arlington County School Board voted on Thursday, May 12, 2022, to include $147,871 for the David M. Brown Planetarium in the 2022-2023 budget, with the intention of re-opening the facility in October or November. The Friends are grateful that the School Board heard the all the citizens who described the value the Planetarium provides our students and our community. They also heard the lasting impact its programs have had on the lives of former students. We look forward to working with them to get our students learning under the dome again and igniting creativity and imagination. Transformative experiences like these are priceless.
