As the Arlington Public Schools begin today, the Friends of Arlington’s David M. Brown Planetarium wish all the students and teachers a safe and stimulating academic year full of learning and personal growth. We are excited that children are donning backpacks, boarding buses, and returning to schools for valuable in-person instruction. We are grateful for the teachers who supported students through last year’s virtual and hybrid environments. Our thoughts are with you as you begin a new year and a new educational adventure.

Although the David M. Brown Planetarium will remain closed for construction during the 2021-2022 school year, the Friends will sponsor Grants for Teachers and the David M. Brown Memorial Scholarship. While we will continue engaging our community in astronomy and science through virtual programming, we also look forward to hosting in-person events. Please join us in making this a great year for STEM education.
