Friends of the Planetarium 2019–2020 Schedule

The Friends organizes and hosts public programs for one weekend each month to expand on the regularly scheduled programs offered by the Arlington Public Schools. Below is the schedule for the 2019 — 2020 season. Stay tuned to this website for more information about what we have in store for this year.

September 20–22 Stars: Powerhouses of the Universe

October 18–20Theory of Relativity at 100 Years and Counting

November 1–350th anniversary of the David M. Brown Planetarium

January 11Losing the Night Sky (offsite)

Shortly after our November weekend, the Planetarium will be forced to close for at least a year due to construction. We plan to be involved in bringing you a series of events at other locations in the area, including our program about light pollution in January. We hope that our members and friends continue their generous support during this partial hiatus, because we plan to hit the ground running with another season of education and entertainment in the Arlington Planetarium as soon as we are able to open our doors again. And while the Planetarium is closed, this website will keep you updated about future plans and continue to bring you news about events of interest in the community.
