Two Small Pieces of Glass

Sept. 17, 2016, 6:30 p.m.

"Two Small Pieces of Glass - The Amazing Telescope" follows two students as they interact with a female astronomer at a local star party.

Along the way, the students learn the history of the telescope from Galileo's modifications to a child's spyglass - using two small pieces of glass - to the launch of the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope and the future of astronomy. Aiming to engage and appeal to audiences of all ages, the show explores the wonder and discovery made by astronomers throughout the last 400 years.

Run Time: 22 minutes.

Target Audience: all ages.

This showing will be preceded by the short film Losing the Dark, which introduces and illustrates some of the issues regarding light pollution, and suggests three simple actions people can take to help mitigate it. Learn ways we can all work together to implement responsible use of lighting.
