A Universe for Everyone

Noreen Grice, an award-winning author and astronomy educator, will be our special guest to begin the meeting. She will explore how planetariums can be more inclusive and accessible for visitors of different learning styles and abilities in a multi-sensory talk entitled, “A Universe for Everyone: Planetarium Accessibility Considerations.” Grice received the Klumpke-Roberts award for outstanding contributions to the public understanding and appreciation of astronomy. She holds Masters' degrees in astronomy and business administration, has worked in and with the planetarium field for over 35 years, and is currently President-Elect of the Middle Atlantic Planetarium Society.

Books by Noreen Grice that will be referenced in this talk:

During the business portion of the meeting following Grice's talk, we will

  • Review the Friends’ activities of the past year
  • Outline plans for the coming year - including the re-opening of the planetarium!
  • Elect members of the Board of Directors
    • Nominations are still open - please recommend someone or volunteer yourself
  • Adopt a budget for 2022

The meeting is free, but participation is limited to current, paid members. All current members of the Friends are invited and encouraged to attend.

All current members should receive an email this week with information on how to register for the meeting.

If you aren’t a current member, this is the perfect opportunity to renew your membership or join!
