How Far is that Star

Event held on April 14, 2023, 11 a.m. Eastern time

You can't take a tape measure to the sky, so how do astronomers measure the distances between stars and galaxies? Friends' President Jennifer Bartlett, a professor at the US Naval Academy, will outline the processes that underlie the distance measurements cited for celestial objects, near and far.

This talk is free but Arlington 55+ membership is required. Because these events frequently have a waitlist, early registration is recommended.

The presentation will be at the Langston-Brown Community Center, 2121 N Culpeper St, Arlington, VA 22207.
