Brig Pari is ISCC Woman of the Year

Friends of Arlington's David M. Brown Planetarium is proud to announce that Advisory Council member Brig Pari has been named Woman of the Year by the Inter-Service Club Council (ISCC) for outstanding service to Arlington. Since 1958 Arlington's ISCC has been publicly recognizing individuals who make significant contributions to the Arlington community.

In addition to her volunteer service on several other local organizations, Brig is a past Director and current Advisory Council member of the Friends of Arlington's David M. Brown Planetarium. Brig also is the force behind the Friends' wildly successful SMASH (Sports, Math, and Scientific Hypotheses) Contest for Arlington's elementary school students, now in its second year. Last year winners and other top entrants were announced in an awards ceremony that included local Congressman Jim Moran, Kyle Porter of D.C. United, and insanely popular University of Virginia physics professor Louis Bloomfield.

We join Arlington's ISCC and the County Board in congratulating our own Brig Pari on a high honor that is richly deserved.
