Meet me at the fair,
Don't tell me the lights are shining
any place but there

--"Meet Me In St. Louis, Louis", lyrics by F. A. Mills & Andrew Sterling

While not the St. Louis World’s Fair (officially Louisiana Purchase Exposition) of 1904, the Arlington County Fair returns this year with appropriate COVID-19 precautions. The Friends of Arlington’s David M. Brown Planetarium will have a booth (#G11) inside (away from the carnival rides—sorry!) along with other community organizations and an amazing variety of competitive exhibits. Come learn the future of the Planetarium, hear our plans for Fall programs, tell us how we can better serve you, and view the fantastic vegetables grown by your neighbors. You can also eat something deep fried (we won't tell).

On Friday night and Saturday, “ask an astronomer” about space, science, and careers.

The Arlington County Fair runs through Sunday, August 22 at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center on South Second Street in Arlington. Admission is free.

Wendy Benvenga of Benvenga Signature Homes generously sponsored our booth.
